Google will refuse any further app updates after August 1, 2019 without full 64-bit support

      "Native Code" (C/C++) libraries must be updated for 64-bit compatibility by Google's directive.

      Our Adobe DRM support libraries are only compiled for 32-bit (and we do not have the source).

      It is likely that Adobe will need to be requested for assistance, to provide updated binaries. These communication channels have been dormant for 4+ years, so a founding member of the SimplyE team will need to be consulted for the fastest success route.

      Prior to the deadline, it is essential that proper fallback or failure of DRM books is properly communicated to the user. At the moment, the app is fairly resistant to the libraries missing (it doesn't crash), but there is no UI to explain the issue specifically. (SIMPLY-1811)

       

      Note: A loss of DRM support means a loss of ability to read any ebooks from our book disctributors like Overdrive and 3M/Bibliotecha, etc.

       

      Testing:

      Most modern Pixels and other Google phones are 64-bit, but you have to run a special adb command to build on the phone WITHOUT backward compatibility. Articles explaining the process:
