The SimplyE app has a policy of hiding books it knows it can't open. In a recent iOS release we added experimental support for DRM-free PDFs. Part of that work was changing iOS SimplyE so that DRM-free PDFs started showing up in the iOS catalog view.

Unfortunately, it looks like DRM-encrypted PDFs also started showing up in the iOS catalog view at this point. These PDFs can't currently be opened. So they can be borrowed (on iOS) but they can't be opened (on either platform). That's the problem patrons are seeing.

The simplest solution is to fix the iOS version of SimplyE so that DRM-encrypted PDFs are hidden but DRM-free PDFs are visible
