Unsure how this happened (haven't been able to reproduce), but on QA, I ran into a metadata service and a patron auth service for which the (required) "Name" field was blank. I think these were created a while ago, and it's no longer possible to save things with blank names. But we need to A) confirm this, and B) put some form of error reporting in the interface, so that users don't experience what I just did (sudden blank screen, with confusing messages in the dev console).
