From the spec:
The [License Status Document](https://readium.org/lcp-specs/lsd.html) is part of the LCP specification family. An audiobook manifest may contain a link to a License Status Document. *Example 2: Link to a License Status Document* ``` { "href": "http://example.com/license/status", "type": "application/vnd.readium.license.status.v1.0+json", "rel": "license" } ```
When such a link is present, User Agents should check on a regular basis the `status` expressed in the License Status Document. If the `status` has a different value than `ready` or `active`, the User Agent must restrict all further access to the publication.
Since checking the status is a SHOULD, we can get to MVP without this.
