Open eBooks currently uses the attached image for the launch screen and the new-user tutorial. This image originally had a flat white background, which I removed (kind of!) because I needed a transparent background for it to work well in dark mode.

Since I'm not a skilled designer I just used macOS's Preview.app to remove the transparency but it's probably best if somebody more proficient with image editing does that over. When I launch it in the app I see some artifacts along the side of the "book" logo.

Another thing that we need is higher resolutions for the same image. Currently this is 480x480 pixels which is fine for the @1x form factor, but modern iOS devices with retina screens will favor @2x or @3x images. So overall we will need the same image at 480x480, 960x960, 1440x1440. They all can have 72 dpi. We should also make sure to pass it through an image optimizer to limit the size in bytes.
