The way we've implemented Crashlytics user IDs in the app tends to cause crashes (ironically) in LFA builds due to the slightly different way the app is initialized there.

I'm filing this ticket retroactively because I'd already opened a PR and had done the work on behalf of LFA. 

Requirement:

1. Change when Crashlytics is initialized to prevent crash and to prevent any change in how other libraries see their data

For the purposes of being complete, even though this will not be tested by NYPL testers, the acceptance criteria are:

1. user should be able to load app and select profile w/o crashing
2. app should initialize Crashlytics successfully prior to profile choice
