Original report:
Here’s what happens: I listen, reach a particular point, stop the audiobook’s progress, and close the app. About 1 minute later, the audiobook will sometimes suddenly start playing again, from the point I left off. This sudden re-start does not always happen. Whether this re-start does or does not occur, the next time I start the audiobook, it picks up again from the beginning, not the point I left off.
Do you need the library and account information? If so, it is Maryland’s Howard County, the card number is 21267010337707 and the pin is 3865.
Followup questions:
I generally hit the pause button and then the home button to go back to the home screen. Sometimes, however, I simply hit the pause button and then the power key, leaving the app open but the screen dark. In either case, the audiobook is left at the point where I left off.
When the audio comes on again, it is typically when I have left my car after listening to the audio via Bluetooth. I will get about 5 steps away and the audio will suddenly start. I stop it by going to the app and pushing the pause button.
Whenever I stop the audio and do not listen for an extended time, then start the audio again, the app goes back to the very beginning of the audiobook. If, however, I stop the audio fro playing and return in fairly short order—say 15 minutes—the audio properly resumes at the I point Ieft off.
From the followup, it seems like we should be more aggressively writing the location to disk, but no matter what the solution, it's expected that a user's location be held for the next time they come back to the audiobook.
